Lloyd E. Brunner, 92, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011, in Sebring. He was born August 6, 1919, to William Reed and Flora (Wharton) Brunner in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1990, coming from Huntingdon, PA. He was an Insurance Agent; a member of St. John United Methodist Church; the VFW and enjoyed golfing, music, baseball and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, where he took part in the second wave of the Normandy Invasion, and was awarded the Bronze Star for evacuating a wounded soldier under fire, as well as two Purple Hearts. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Rodger) Lewis of Sebring and Robin (George) Allen of Holland, PA; grandchildren, Lindsey, Hunter, Carrie and Chelsea. He was preceded by his parents and his wife, Mae Brunner. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Stephenson-Nelson Chapel, Sebring, with Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
