Lester G. Tolar

Lester G. Tolar, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Avon Park, FL. He was born on July 4, 1936 in Adel, GA to the late Clayton and Maude (Dorman) Tolar. Lester had been a resident of Avon Park since 1971 having come from Lakeland, FL. He was a Pastor and interim Pastor at many churches for over 50 years. Lester was a member of the Florida Avenue Baptist Church. He loved to play piano and sing at church. Lester is survived by his daughter: Ladonna (Anthony) Singley of Avon Park, FL; sons: Jon (Kathryn) Tolar of Avon Park, FL; Lee (Stacy) Tolar of Sebring, FL, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2014 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Florida Avenue Baptist Church followed by burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
