Dale Faust, age 91, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Sebring, Florida. Dale was born in Homestead, Florida on July 18, 1929 as Lester Dale Faust. His parents Thomas and Mary Faust were originally from West Virginia. His father was the Secretary Treasurer for Holsum Bakery in South Miami. His mother was a homemaker. Dale had one older sibling, Rex Faust, who passed away in 2004.  Dale graduated from Ponce de Leon High School in 1948. Dale joined the Navy and served as a sonar man for 4 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge after the Korean War. His tours were on the 704 USS Borie and the USS Robinson. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Dale attended the University of Florida and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee in 1957. His first practice in Optometry was at Cutler Ridge, Miami, Florida. Dale moved to Sebring, Florida in 1970 where he opened his practice and finalized his years of service to the community in 1999. Dale has served as a substitute Optometrist since closing his office and still worked until the age of 91. At the age of 6 years old, Dale’s mother realized her son had “perfect pitch” and saw that he had piano lessons (classical music) for 13 years. His musical endeavors began as a teenager. He played Rhapsody in Blue on the piano with his high school band. He also played saxophone in the band. In a local USO group in Miami he played solo piano to entertain the troops on R&R. In Dale’s adult life while he was in the College of Optometry he was the editor of the school newspaper. He was a charter member of the Perrine Rotary Club in Cutler Ridge, Florida. Also, a member of the Rotary Club in Sebring, Florida. Dale participated in mission trips to Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Dale was an active participate in the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship in Sebring. In 1979 Dale was instrumental in helping build the first charismatic church in Sebring “New Wine Fellowship”. Dale played keyboard in various churches throughout his lifetime. Dale is survived by two sons, Eric and Shawn Faust. Eric and his wife Zori have 3 daughters, Janna, Julia and Nancy Marie residing in Cape Coral, Florida. Shawn and his wife have 2 sons, Noah and Jacob who reside in Port Orange, Florida. Dale was a widower twice, his first wife, Julie Mancuso and second wife, Marie Schumacher. Dale is presently married to Donna J. Faust since 1998. Dale and Donna have served in ministry and foreign missions since their marriage began. They recently attended Christ Fellowship Church in Sebring, Florida. Dale on the worship team as a keyboard player; Donna sang in the choir and taught in the ministry. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida.
