Leroy Brumbaugh Hartle, Jr.

LeROY BRUMBAUGH HARTLE, JR. LeRoy B. Hartle, Jr., 93, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012, in Sebring. He was born December 27, 1918, to LeRoy and Cecil (Reightler) Hartle in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Franklin Hartle; loving father of Carol Hartle Davis and the late LeRoy B. Hartle III (Pete); brother to Dorothy Hartle Weir and brother of the late Cecil Ray Hartle (Johnny); loving grandfather of Melissa Davis Seltmann; Ethan Roy Davis and Christine Hartle Kaufman and great-grandfather to Carter Davis Seltmann; Angelina Kaufman and Clint Kaufman. LeRoy was a Corporal in the 106th Army Air Force during the victory of World War II. He was employed as a machinist building parts for the Apollo Moon Mission. He served 50 years as a volunteer to the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was a 59 year member of the Sharon Lodge No. 182 of AF and AM, serving as Worshipful Master in 1969. LeRoy was a passionate gardener and a skilled craftsman who loved woodworking and fishing with his son, Pete. After living all his life in Maryland, he spent the last several years living with his daughter, Carol, in Avon Park. Services will be held at a later date in Maryland.
