Leonard C. "Lenny" Smith

LEONARD C. LENNY SMITH, III Leonard C. Lenny Smith, III, 57, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Sebring. He was born October 28, 1952 in Avon Park, Florida and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was Owner and President of Great Fruit Company; was on the Board of Directors of Citrus World, Riverside Bank and Highlands Regional Medical Center, served on the Scholarship Recognition Committee and attended Union Congregational Church in Avon Park. He also donated and built two homes for Habitat for Humanity. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved people and lived life to the fullest. He was a graduate of The University of Florida, loved football and was proud to be a Bull Gator. His hobbies included the special time he spent playing golf with his friends, fishing and time spent as the Captain on the Aggravation with friends and family and hunting at the ranch, enjoying peaceful quiet time. Lenny is survived by his Wife of 26 years, Sebrina M. Smith of Sebring; Daughter, Somer Lyn Smith, Sebring; Son, L.C. Smith, IV, Sebring; Sisters, Suzi McNorton, Sebring; Tracy and Mike Fitch, Sebring and Julie Finnigan, Sebring; Father, Leonard C. (Gus), Jr. and Peggy Smith, Sebring; Mother-in-Law, Virginia Bennett, Sebring and Brothers-in-Law, Denny Montsdeoca, Sebring and Jimmy A. and Pal Bennett, Ocala, FL, two Nieces and five Nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Union Congregational Church, Avon Park, Rev. Bill Breylinger officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at The Country Club of Sebring following the service.
