Leonard "Butch" Dent

Leonard “Butch” Dent, age 88, passed away on September 12, 2017 in Sebring, FL. Leonard was born in Thompsonville, Maryland on January 23, 1929. He moved to this area in 1986 from Beltsville, Maryland.  He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and operating as a dealer at Flea Markets.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Persey Dent and Blanche Hamilton Dent, his loving wife Elsie Louise Dent, Step-Son Kenneth Corley, Son-In-Law Donald Gates Sr., 4 brothers and 2 sisters.  He is survived by his 3 Step Children: Edward Corley Jr (Patty), Fort Myers, FL; Janet Gates, Chester, MD; Judith Peggins (Jim), Laurel, MD; Step Daughter-In-Law Joyce Corley, Maryland; Brother-In-Law Mederic Chaput, Maryland; 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 with a Funeral Service to follow at 2 p.m.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice.
