Leo George Mckoy

Leo George McKoy, age 84 passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in St. Mary, Jamaica to Dan and Jane (Thompson) McKoy. Mr. McKoy worked in the Mining Industry, he enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and spending time with his family, and he was of the Christian faith and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1953 coming from Kingston, Jamaica. He is survived by his children-Ethel, Edward, Timothy, Cynthia, Larry, Laverne, Linda, Gwen, Horace and Michelle; 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; niece-Idella White of Miami, Florida and dear friends-John Jeremiah of Avon Park and Tommy Carr of Avon Park. Mr. McKoy was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years-Lillie Frances McKoy. Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 232 East Hal McRae Boulevard, Avon Park, Florida 33825. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. also at the church with Pastor Anthony Langhorme officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Garden Cemetery.
