Lena Helen Meyer

Lena Helen Meyer, born on December 1, 1931, in Adair County, Missouri, to the late Ernest and Wilma Bybee, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. Lena lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to others.

Lena dedicated much of her life to missionary work, answering a calling that took her far from home, including many years in the Dominican Republic and Ecuador before she moved to Sebring, Florida, in 2000. She was an active and devoted member of both Spring Lake Baptist Church and Maranatha Baptist Church, where her faith and kindness left a lasting impression on her community. Lena also served as a bookkeeper at the Bible Institute, where her commitment and attention to detail made her a trusted and beloved member of the organization.

Lena played the piano and organ with grace, often sharing her talent with others in worship. She also found joy in reading and cooking, activities she pursued with the same care and warmth that characterized her interactions with others. Her family remembers her as a devoted, generous, and loving soul, someone whose intelligence and kindness made an impact.

Lena is survived by her children: Richard Meyer of Sebring, Florida; Jeannette Ferguson of Cleveland, Ohio; and Anita Swedberg of Natal, Brazil. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Glenna Konvalin and William Bybee, as well as her eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Lena’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the strength of a loving heart. She leaves behind a legacy of selfless love and unwavering devotion, touching lives across the world and inspiring those who knew her to live with generosity and grace.

Services to celebrate Lena's life and honor her memory will be held at Spring Lake Baptist Church, 7408 Valencia Rd, Sebring, FL 33876  on November 11, 2024 at 2:00PM. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM.
