Lee Roy Proffitt

Lee Roy Proffitt, age 86,  born on October 30, 1937, in Dillingham, NC, passed away on March 23, 2024, in Sebring, FL. He was the beloved son of Sam Lee Proffitt and Lois Dillingham .Lee was a loving husband to Ladonna Proffitt of Sebring, FL, and a devoted father to his son Lee E. Proffitt (Jen) of Parrish, FL, and his daughters Paula Jermyn of Newark, DE, and Terry Valenti (Joe) of Wellington, FL. He is also survived by his sister Sheila, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents .

From Tennessee, Lee moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1961. In 1979, Lee married Ladonna in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea a town in Broward County, Florida, and they built a beautiful life together. Lee was a hard worker, having been employed in office supply and furniture sales for over 40 years. Lee and Ladonna retired to Sebring in 2002. Beyond his professional life, Lee had a passion for gardening, golf, walking, and riding bike in his Golf Hammock neighborhood. He enjoyed the outdoors and cherished moments spent in nature. Lee loved going back home to North Carolina, visiting the family, and looking up at the Parkway and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lee was a friendly neighbor, always ready to greet others with a smile, a wave, and a good chat. His social nature and love for humor brightened the lives of all who knew him.

A true community member, Lee had a positive impact on those around him. His kind and sociable personality endeared him to many, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and friendship .A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 12:00 P.M., until time of service at 2:00 P.M. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice at 1110 Hammock Rd, Sebring, FL 33870, in Lee's memory.

Lee Roy Proffitt will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing to all who were touched by his presence.
