Lawrence Smith

Lawrence Smith, age 84 passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Myakka City, Florida to Luther and Lonie (Ballard) Smith. He worked in the Citrus Industry, attended the Sanctuary Church of God; he had been a resident of Avon Park since 1987 coming from Wauchula, Florida; he enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his sons-David Smith (Susan) of Avon Park, Florida, Phillip Smith (Sandra) of Wauchula, Florida; daughters-Wanda Rogers (Jerry) of Wauchula, Florida, Lorine Platt (Sam) of Sebring, Florida and Lisa Prestridge (J.R.) of Zolfo Springs, Florida; sister-Luviel Daniels of Arcadia, Florida; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife of 35 years-Helen Smith and 2nd wife of 18 years-Billie Smith, a son-Lawrence Smith, Jr., 2 daughters-Betty Ward and Shirley Tillman, a grandson-Junior Merchant and a granddaughter-Lori Smith. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bougainvillea Cemetery with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
