Lawrence J. Greenwood, 88, died peacefully on December 30, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice. "Larry" was born November 23, 1924 in Green, Ohio to Raymond and Pauline Greenwood. Larry served in the Merchant Marines and saw combat duty during World War II. He was an avid Breeder/Fancier of many types of birds, but will be remembered most for the many color mutations of Guinea Fowl he developed and named. He also contributed his experience with birds to several publications. Larry is survived by his longtime friend and partner, Ron Adams. He is also survived by two sisters, Maude and Floy plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry's wishes were to be cremated with no services. Donations may be made in his name to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, Florida 33870. One of Larry's favorite passages: "I shall pass through this world but once. Any good that I can do, or any kindness that I can show any human being, let me do it now and not deter it for I shall not pass this way again!"
