Lauris Yvonne Coke

Lauris Yvonne Coke passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 82. The daughter of Laurie Coke and Roselyn Vermont (Coke), and dear sister of Patricia Coke. She was born on July 9, 1940 in St Mary, Jamaica. A woman with a big heart who wore many hats, Lauris spent many years as a mixologist, care giver, as well as a seamstress in the entertainment industry. Lauris was never one to plant roots in any one place for too long. For many years she called Syracuse New York as well as Fort Lauderdale, Florida home. While living in Syracuse and raising a child, Lauris also earned an Associate’s Degree in Communications. Several years ago, having a desire to slow things down and live closer to her uncle and aunts, she moved to Sebring, where she , in following with her Mother and Aunt Ruby Ramsay, embraced the Baha’i Faith. Lauris is survived by her loving son Larry Alan Coke (Jamie Lynn) of New York; her Aunt LaLene Jacelon of Sebring and several cousins. A Baha’i graveside service is to be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park , Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to the local Humane Society.
