Larry E. Thompson

Larry E. Thompson, age 79, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on July 17, 1937 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Melvin and Vera (Mayers) Thompson. Larry had been a resident of Highlands County since 1940.  He spent his career as a Major with the United States Army serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  A member of the VFW Post 4300 and American Legion Post 25, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include his son, Lawrence Thompson and his brother, James R. Thompson both of Sebring, FL, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
