Lane A. Welcome, age 85, passed away on April 28, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. He was born on December 20, 1938, in Morristown, Minnesota, to Forest W. and Myrtle M. (Smith) Welcome. He has been a resident of Sebring, FL since 2004, coming from Faribault, MN. Lane was a proud member of the Army Reserves, demonstrating his patriotism and willingness to serve his country.
Lane is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes Guinn, his son, Scott Welcome (Wendy) of Kalispell, MT, his step-children, Michelle Evans of Lakeland, FL, and Todd Guinn (Chasity) of West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness and pride.
Lane led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, and service to his community. As a Commercial Painting Contractor, Lane's work ethic and talent were evident in every project he undertook. His membership in organizations such as the Elks club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Painters Union, and the Lutheran community showcased his commitment to helping others and building strong bonds within his community.
In his personal life, Lane found joy in the simple things - he loved to fish and hunt, enjoying the great outdoors and the beauty of nature. His passion for cooking, especially using the grill/smoker, brought joy to his family and friends, who always looked forward to his delicious meals.
Lane's warm and welcoming nature touched the lives of all who knew him. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Lane's legacy of service and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
