L. K. Butler, Jr.

L.K. Butler, Jr., age 76 passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Butler was born in Sebring, Florida to L.K. and Elizabeth (Bass) Butler. Mr. Butler worked for Sebring Utilities for 24 years and the Avon Park Water Department for 18 years and also worked for Andros Island in the Bahamas for 5 years, he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends, and he was a member of the Florida Avenue Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Highlands County. He is survived by his children-Sonnya Moran (Tom) of Avon Park, Florida, Lindy Franza (Joe) of Avon Park, Florida, Michael Butler of Sebring, Florida and Lance Butler of Avon Park, Florida; loyal companion-Idella Wrathall of Avon Park, Florida; sisters-Jeanette Ellis of Lake Placid, Florida, Farida Norris of Sebring, Florida and Joy Albritton (Monroe) of Sebring, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Florida Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. John Girdley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highlands County School Board in care of the Joe Franza Scholarship Fund, 426 School Street, Sebring, Florida 33870.
