Kevin Michael Andrews

Kevin Michael Andrews, age 66, of Sebring, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Advent Health hospital after succumbing to a combination of kidney failure, diabetes and other medical complications. Kevin was born in Freemont, Ohio, to Phyllis Ann Stewart and Howard Wilbur Andrews Senior. Born on October 12, 1954, he was the middle child with two older and two younger siblings.

Kevin followed his family's tradition of military service. In 1974, at age 19, Kevin enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. For two years, he served in various roles, such as a legal clerk, and earned recognition for his M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter skills. He was stationed in the U.S. and Okinawa during that time. Kevin loved technology.

Kevin worked as a mechanical and electrical engineer at several companies throughout his career, where he took part in projects such as designing and testing electrical circuitry in military tanks, Ford and GM vehicles, while traveling to destinations such as the Ford Motor Company factory locations in Detroit and Mexico. He was an early adapter of new computer technology, frequently kept spare computer parts on hand and enjoyed helping out others with their technology questions. Kevin loved people.

Kevin loved to laugh. He was friendly and personable, and made friends with just about everyone he met. He usually had a joke or two handy to lighten the mood. He loved to play the 12-string acoustic guitar. He had excellent taste in music and set up a complex stereo system so he could jam out to classic Christian rock groups like Petra and Degarmo & Key. Kevin believed in Jesus. Kevin was very open and honest about his belief in Jesus as his lord and savior. He believed that Jesus cares for each and every one of us, and that God is ready and willing to accept our surrender to him with open arms.

Kevin is preceded in death by his mother Phyllis, and his brother Mark. He is survived by his father Howard Andrews Sr. (Nancy), his siblings Susan Eby (Gary), Lisa McCallister (David) and Howard Andrews Jr. (Chris), his wife Debbie Meredith and his three children, Jared (Amber) Kaltenbach, Hope (Chuck) Bahr, Bethany Andrews, his granddaughter Siera Kaltenbach and several cousins.

Interment with military honors will be held in Augusta, Michigan at the Fort Custer National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on May 20, 2022. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice.
