Kent G. Zastrow, 61, of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away on September 7, 2024. Born on June 5, 1963, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Kent was the beloved son of the late Gordon and Marilyn Zastrow. He lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Kent spent many years working as a trucking transportation specialist, a career that brought him immense pride. He was a valued member of Walpole, Inc. Trucking Company, where his colleagues became like a second family to him. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were admired by all who knew him.
He was a man of unwavering faith and dedicated much of his time ministering to those in need, especially through his work at the Arcadia prison, where he provided comfort and spiritual guidance to many.
Kent had a great love for the outdoors, especially canoeing, and found joy in the simple things, like tending to his yard and pulling weeds. He was a natural tinkerer, always finding ways to fix or improve whatever he worked on. Kent’s generous spirit, fun-loving nature, and social personality meant that he never met a stranger—his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Kent is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Zastrow; his cherished children, Deanna Zastrow, Mahalah Zastrow, and Kenni Zastrow; Gary and Darren; his precious granddaughter, Stella, and granddaughter Addison. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronda Kleizo, Maureen Rochester, Janelle Fredrick, and Kevin Zastrow; nephews, Gordon and Kyle; niece, Lauren; his best friend, Tom Yearout; and dear friends Ronda and Charlie. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marilyn Zastrow.
Kent will be remembered for his hardworking, generous, and faithful spirit. His big heart and comforting presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
