Kenneth E. Hosier

Kenneth (Kenny) E. Hosier, 78, resident of Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2014 at Good Shepherd Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born, May 22, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Paul and Celia (Hartman) Hosier. Kenneth and his loving wife, Mary Kauffman, have been happily married since September 29, 1956. Kenny retired from the Anderson Police Department in 1978, serving 20 years. After retirement, Kenny remained active in his community. He was elected Madison County Recorder from 1987 - 1994, served on the West Central Community School Board, drove a school bus, auctioneered, was a farmer and a carpenter, was employed at Grandview Golf Course in Anderson and Harder Hall Country Club in Sebring, Florida. Kenny and Mary retired to Sebring, Florida in 1996, where Kenny was an avid golfer and fisherman. He is survived by: his loving wife, Mary; five children: Deborah (Michael) Leitem, Judi (Joseph) Pierry, Nancy (Patrick) Chomyn, Gary (Jennifer) Hosier, and Jane (Ray) Lyons; fifteen grandchildren: Annie (Ryan) Saylor, Paul Leitem, Eric Leitem, Jessica Pierry, Joseph Pierry, James Pierry, Nathan Chomyn, Allison Chomyn, Alicia Burchfield, Tyler Hosier, Alexis Hosier, Amber Hosier, Gary Hosier, Wesley Doty and Matthew Doty; two great-grandchildren: Ellie Saylor and Jocelyn Doty; one sister: Belva (Donald) Pritchett; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kelli Leitem.
