Kenneth P. Fitch

Kenneth P. Fitch, age 57 passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Constableville, New York to Robert and Margaret (OConnor) Fitch. Mr. Fitch graduated from Adirondack Senior High School Class of 1973, he served in the United States Navy during Vietnam, and after serving in the Navy he took the position as a fireman with the fire department at Griffiss Air Force Base in 1979. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1985; he transferred to the Avon Park Air Force Base in 1997, where he served as the Assistant Chief of Operations until he retired in 2009 after 33 years of service. He was the Past Commander of Charles J. Love Post DSC 406 American Legion, lifetime member of the Harland & Hennesey Post VFW 5538, member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2494 in Highlands county, Florida, he was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1997 coming from Boonville, New York. He is survived by his wife-Frieda Fitch of Avon Park, Florida; daughter-Amanda Fitch Carter (Walt) of Avon Park, Florida and Kerri Fitch of Avon Park, Florida; sisters-MaryAnn Bourgeois of Mechanicville, New York and Karen Williams of Boonville, New York; one granddaughter-Kaitlyn. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Father Nick McLoughlin officiating.
