Kenneth W. Fields, age 82, passed away on January 4, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 25, 1932 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late William and Florence E. (Atchue) Fields. Ken had been a resident of Sebring since 1972 coming from North Carolina. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force serving during World War II and Korea. He was retired from United Telephone/Sprint. A member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, he enjoyed fishing and was the City of Sebring Santa Claus for over 25 years, but his most joy was his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his wife, Ellene Fields, children, Sherri Bennett (Jackie), Brenda Bachman (Mark), Terry Elwood; grandchildren, Taylor Bennett; Hunter Bennett; Dusty Weed; Ross Weed; Austin Weed; Kendall McIntyre; Kori Bachman; Cody Owens; Brandon Owens; Martha Elwood, brother, Dick Fields (Carol) and niece and nephew, Lori Ann Soig and Richie G. Fields, Jr., and ten great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Weed. There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 9, 2015, 11:00am, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Sebring with Father Nicholas McLoughlin officiating.
