Kenneth L Coss

Kenneth L. Coss, Jr., passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on September 27, 1935, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Kenneth was the cherished son of the late Kenneth and Bernalda Coss.

Kenneth spent his professional life dedicated to improving the lives of others through his work as the president of the Rubber Workers Labor Union. He and Carol made Highlands County their home in 1996 after moving from Akron, Ohio. They were faithful attendees at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Coss; his daughter, Catherine Coss; and his sister, Carolyn Winnie. Kenneth is survived by his devoted daughter, Karen McCracken of Sebring, FL; his brother, H. Thomas Coss of Greenville, SC; his granddaughter, Faith McCracken; and his great-grandchildren, Kira, Cody, Kayla, and Carla.

Kenneth was known for his adventurous spirit and his passion for life. He enjoyed a variety of activities including golfing, tennis, water skiing, snow skiing, and other water sports. An avid gardener, he found joy in nurturing his plants. Kenneth also had a love for singing, participating in the Sebring Barber Shop Choir and his church choir.

He will be remembered for his dedication, caring nature, enthusiasm, and his zest for life.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. The family invites friends and loved ones to a visitation on the same day, beginning at 12:30 PM.

Kenneth's legacy of love, commitment, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
