Katie "Ophelia" Rihner, age 93, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on June 23, 1921 in Gainesville, GA to the late James A. and Mary E. (Fincannon) Dean. Ophelia had been a resident of Highlands County since 1938. She worked as a District Clerk for Florida Power and retired after 30 years. Ophelia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avon Park. She is survived by her son: Mike (Beth) Rihner of Avon Park, grandchildren: Ashley (Matt) Colman of Orlando, FL, Arnie (Beth) Belcher of Raleigh, NC, and niece: Beverly Lundwall of Georgia. Ophelia was predeceased by her sisters: Evie Canup, Helen Irvin, and brother: Jay Dean. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 26th at the First Baptist Church in Avon Park with funeral service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at the Bougainvillea Cemetery.
