Kathleen M. King, 78, of Sebring, Florida, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida. Kathleen was born on April 4, 1947, in Cortland, New York, the daughter of Doris Polizzi (Munson) and George Haskell. She had been a resident of Sebring for the past 49 years, having moved there from Cortland, New York. Kathleen served as Executive Director of Nu-Hope of Highlands County for 19 years. After her retirement, she and her husband, Gary, purchased Porter Paint in Sebring, which they operated together with her mother for 10 years. She also worked for the Highlands County School Board for six years. Kathleen had a deep love for art and crafts, enjoyed watching movies, especially binge-watching with her daughter—and was a true foodie who loved to cook and share meals with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda Haskell; and her daughter, Karen Crozier. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Gary King, whom she had known for over 65 years; her daughters, Andrea and Angela Crivello; stepchildren, Stacey Potter and Stephanie Hoffman; her siblings, Charyl Jones, Debra Feniello, and George Haskell; and her grandson, Julian Crozier. A funeral service will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery on February 10, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.
