Karen S Weeks

Karen S. Weeks, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Avon Park, FL. She was born on April 25, 1947 in Findlay, OH to the late Ordez Powell and Zola Irene (Kiger) Woodruff. Karen was a contagious spirit who was loved by everyone who got a chance to meet her. Her spunk for life and the Lord was evident in everything she did. Karen was an active member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church and could be found singing in the choir, cooking for church dinners, and lending a hand anywhere it was needed. If you asked Karen’s friends, they’d tell you she’d give you the shirt off her back and bake you a pound cake all in the same breath. If there was one thing Karen didn’t do, that was sit still. Karen used every possible minute spending time with friends and family, serving others and her Lord, and working on special projects around her home. There are very few people in this world like Karen and she will be greatly missed, but her friends and family find peace in knowing that Heaven gained a spunky angel! Karen had been a resident of Avon Park since 1978 having come from Findlay, OH.  She is survived by her children: Trisha Wright (Randy) of Avon Park, FL; Michele Coleman (Joey) of Avon Park, FL; Brian Cox (Racquel) of Avon Park, FL; Michael Long (Rachel) of Avon Park, FL; brothers: Gary Woodruff (Linda) of Lakeview, OH; Roberta Lazenby of Marion, OH; grandchildren: Chad Wright (Nola); Jerry Lee Wright (Mary Craig); Caleb Coleman; Cody Coleman; Briana Cox; Jady Cox; and great-granddaughter: Lynlee Wright. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church in Avon Park, FL.
