Karen LaVerne Thompson

Karen LaVerne Thompson, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. She was born on October 6, 1940, in Bedford, Indiana, to Harry and Lula (Underwood) Moore. Karen was a dedicated business owner who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and ceramics. She was also a proud member of the Women of the Moose. Above all, Karen will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Thompson; her two children, Jeff Allan Thompson (Sheri) of Parker City, Indiana, and Troy Duwayne Thompson (Julie) of Sebring, Florida. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Jacob L. Thompson (Karlee), Lexi A. Thompson, Rhett A. Thompson (Baylea), and Kenna L. Laskovy (Matthew); and her great-grandchildren: Olivia A. Thompson, Bennett Thompson, Kaleeyah J. Garcia, Arlee A. Thompson, and Enslee L. Thompson. Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Max Moore, and her sister, Harriett Lynn Moore. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
