Karen L. Haddix,78, passed away on Monday January 15, 2024 in Sebring, Florida after a long fight with M.S. She has enjoyed her retirement in Sebring since 2009, socializing with her amazing friends and community. She enjoyed visiting the pool, playing poker, doing puzzles, and traveling. Karen worked as a social worker in the education and court system where she impacted the lives of many. Karen, along side her beloved husband James Haddix were dairy farmers and loving foster parents to 46 additional children while living in Michigan. Karen was of Christian faith. She is the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Miller) Kieffer. She was born on June 19, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana She is survived by her son – Jeff Haddix (Jill) of Smyrna, Michigan; daughters – Jennifer Morgan (Darren) of Olmsted Township, Ohio; Jaime Haddix of Macon, Missouri; Dana Soptich of Elkhart, Indiana; brother – James Kieffer (Barb) of Edmore, Michigan. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Haddix and her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4th,2024 at 2pm-4pm at Lakeview United Church of Christ, 115 Fifth Street, Lakeview, MI
