Junior Lee Forquer

Junior Lee Forquer of the Colfax community passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. He was a resident of Avon Park, Florida. Junior was born on May 19, 1943, in Core, West Virginia to Gilbert Ray Forquer and Jennie Jean Pawlak Forquer. Junior was one of fourteen children.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, brothers; Don Forquer, Richard (Dick) Forquer, sisters; Wanda Tokarz, Judy Johnson, and Bonnie Sue Forquer.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years; Mary Jane Kirk Forquer, sons; Shawn Mark Forquer - Montana Mines, West Virginia, Scott Allen Forquer and Wife Tracey – Effie, Louisianna, brothers; Jack Forquer, Robert (Bob)Forquer, William (Bill) Forquer, and Garry Forquer, grandchildren; Kassandra, Tharron, Brandon, Caiden, Keara, Ryan, Darien, and great grandchildren; Nevaeh, Rayden, Cammie and Scotland.

Junior graduated from Clay Battelle High School and was a welder fabricator by trade. He loved to fish, hunt and garden. He loved his Shih Tzu Suzi more than life itself. He loved his good friends at Villa Del Sol who visited him almost daily, Kris, Elmer, and Mitch.

A Celebration of Junior’s life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Villa Del Sol Clubhouse beginning at 2:00 p.m.

A secondary memorial service will be held in West Virginia for family and friends in the spring. Date to be announced.
