Judy Weithorn of Makanda, Illinois, passed away on March 22, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. Judy was born July 31, 1943, in Tonawanda, New York, to James and Marion Higgins.

After High School she graduated from Cobleskill College. She then worked for the CIA in Washington D.C., where she met her first husband Robert Clark. While living in Joliet, Illinois, they had a daughter Dawn and a son Devin.

In 1983 she married Bernie Weithorn in Makanda, Illinois.

Judy worked at Southern Illinois University in the Ag Ed and Mech department. After retiring in 2000, Judy and Bernie took their RV and began spending some of the winter months in Florida. They have spent the past 13 winters at Adelaide Shores in Avon Park, Florida. Judy was a member of the Spartan Sams RV club and the Midwest RV club.

Judy was an avid card player. She enjoyed playing Bridge at the Carbondale Senior Center. She played Bunco, Euchre, and Pepper each week at Adelaide Shores.

She enjoyed spending time with her plants in her sun room. In the summer she spent time flower gardening outside. For many years she was a member of the Evergreen Garden club.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents James and Marion Higgins and brother Richard Higgins. She is survived by her husband Bernie, brother Tom Higgins of Cedar Key, Florida, daughter Dawn Moake and husband John of Johnston City, Illinois, son Devin Clark and wife Monica of Naples, Florida, two wonderful granddaughters Ashley Roberts of Seattle, Washington, and Emma Moake of Johnston City, Illinois.
