Juan Arceo Madrigal

Juan Arceo Madrigal, 85, of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away on November 30, 2024. Born on June 10, 1939, in Quitupan, Jalisco, Mexico, he was the beloved son of the late Antonio Arceo and Anita Madrigal.

In 1957, Juan immigrated to Florida, where he settled in Lake Placid and built a life marked by hard work and devotion to his family and community. He dedicated his career to maintenance work within the agricultural industry, reflecting his strong work ethic and passion for the land.

Juan was a man of great faith and a devoted member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring. He found joy in gardening, tending to his farm animals, and the simple pleasures of hunting and fishing. His passion was music, he was an excellent musician, playing guitar, accordion, and violin. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed soccer and boxing, and he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucia Arceo, and their nine children: Maria de Jesus Barajas (Gabriel), Fidel Arceo (Gela), Alicia Arceo (Jose), Jorge Arceo (Gricelda), Araceli Arceo (Isaac), Jose L. Arceo, Aida Arceo (Jesus), Marco Arceo (Alma), and Juan Arceo (Sylvia). Juan also leaves behind twenty-five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

He will be remembered for his strength, thoughtfulness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Juan’s legacy as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Catherine Parish Hall. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 820 Hickory Street, Sebring, FL, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
