Jr Sims

Jr Sims, age 63, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Avon Park, Florida. Mr. Sims was born in Samson County, Alabama to Walter Rufus, Sr. and Maurine (Knowles) Sims. He worked in Construction, member of the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church; he served in the United States Marines during Vietnam and had been a lifelong resident of Avon Park, Florida. He is survived by his wife-Katy Baucom-Sims of Avon Park, Florida; sons-Chris Baucom (Brandy) of Tennessee and Aaron Walter Rufus Sims, III of Babson Park, Florida; daughters-Jennifer Sims-Crunkelton (Mike) of Avon Park, Florida, Michelle Sims (Erick) of Lake Wales, Florida and Cybil Lightsey (Cliff) of Bereah, Florida; 6 grandchildren-Joshua Baucom, Jacob Baucom, Ben Collins, Kyler Crunkelton, Kelby Clay Crunkelton and Jacob Lightsey and many nieces and nephews- Matt Cloud (Wendy), Andrea Green (David), Jason Sims and Brandy Keith. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
