Joyce Dorothy Crooks

JOYCE DOROTHY CROOKS Joyce Dorothy Crooks, 70, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at her home. She was born May 23, 1939, to Elmer Joseph and Helen (Breitenbach) Middleton in Trenton, New Jersey, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1972, coming from Levittown, PA. She was a teacher; a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and worked for the Highlands County School System from 1977-2001. She was an active member of Bible Fellowship Church; loved her family and treasured her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, in 2006, and is survived by her daughters, Ginny and husband Richard Scherch of New Port Richey, FL and Jill and husband Frank Ashley of Lakeland and Sebring and Granddaughter, Ashley Victoria Scherch. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Bible Fellowship Church, Sebring, Dr. Eugene Bengtson officiating.
