Joy Lou Kiker, age 83, of Sebring, Florida went to be with her Lord on December 12, 2023. Joy was born on December 25, 1939, in Corry, Pennsylvania to her parents Willie “Bill” Moore and Marjorie Moore (Chamberlin). Joy always displayed beautiful penmanship, and as an eleven-year-old her talent was recognized by being given the opportunity to assist her teacher with the penmanship classes for her peers. Joy was an incredibly strong and resilient person. As a twelve-year-old she was in a serious and nearly fatal automobile accident, she carried emotional and physical scars from this incident with her throughout life, however, she did not let this slow her down. She had the tenacity to go back to school to get her diploma after a two-year hiatus to start her family. She graduated in 1960 from Sherman Central School, in Sherman, New York. Joy went on to have five children whom she adored, and raised with husband Phil Henderson near Springfield, Missouri. She was loved by the staff at Sunny Hills Assisted Living where she spent her final years. Joy was a long-time member of Avon Park Church of the Nazarene, given her Christmas day birth she couldn’t wait for Pastor Boardman to play ‘Joy To The World’.
Joy is predeceased by her Parents, and daughter Lou Ann. She is survived by her children; Lynn, Lee, Lane, and Lisa and Siblings Ron Moore of Findley Lake, NY, Roger Moore of Hemet, CA, James Moore of Sebastian, FL, and Mitchell Moore of Sebring, FL.
Joy touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
