Joy Ann Johnson

Joy Ann Johnson, age 74, passed peacefully in her home on November 23, 2021 surrounded by family.  She was born August 11, 1947 in Sebring, Florida to James and Bertha Musselwhite.  She later married the love of her life Grover Johnson, in November of 1982.

Joy enjoyed journaling, reading, crossword puzzles, drawing, painting, bragging on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and doting on her two puppies Susie and Missy.  For many years she was a principal’s assistant at Sebring Middle School.  Her proudest job was being a Mama to her children and many, many foster children.  Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31 KJV

Joy was preceded in death by her mother and father James and Bertha Musselwhite.  She is survived by her husband, Grover Johnson, her twin sister JoAnn Mansfield, her children and their spouses, Steve and Rochelle Gentry, Scott and Jennifer Sharrett, David and Carrie Johnson, Clay and Tonya Colquitt, Russell Johnson, Jimmy and Kaycee Johnson.  Her grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Murray, Aaron and Rebekah Guthrie and their daughters Myah, Kylee and Blair, Abigail Gentry, Andrew Sharrett and his son Spencer, Isaac and Alicia Sharrett and their sons Weston and Clyde, Anna Sharrett, Shelbee Sharrett, Tyler and Jackson Colquitt, Isabella Johnson and Harley and Linwood Johnson.

Please join us for services at New Life Holiness Church located at 109 Hallmark Avenue, Lake Placid, Florida 33852 on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 10:30am.  Flowers can be sent to New Life Holiness Church.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.  Graveside services will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 854 Memorial Drive, Avon Park, FL  33825.  Immediate family only.  The church will provide lunch on the grounds after the funeral service.
