JOSEPH RIVES RYMER Joseph Rives Rymer, dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, age 83, of Sebring, Fl, died on Sat. May 14, 2011 at the Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1927 in Asheville, NC to Furman and Amy Elizabeth (Collins) Rymer. Mr. Rymer was a Civil Engineer and Division Manager for the Railroad, a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force, was a 32nd Degreee Mason and a Shriner, an avid golfer and a graduate of the University of Maryland, and has been a resident here since 1998, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Next to his family, his second love was being a lifetime railroad man. He loved the railroad and the railroad loved him. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Sebring; Daughters- Patricia Sue Rymer of Sebring, FL and Susan Rymer Chapin of St. Louis, MO; Son- Joseph Rives Rymer, Jr. (Amy) of Nashville, TN.; Brothers- Thomas Rymer of Cheasapeake Beach, MD and John Rymer of Fenwick Island, DE; 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by a Daughter, Marcia Rymer Brown. Funeral Services will be held on Tues. May 17, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Stephenson-Nelson Chapel in Sebring with Rev. W. Mike Adams officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM. Those who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1268, Wauchula, FL 33873, in his memory.
