Joseph J. Raaf, age 86, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on December 23, 1927 in New York, New York to the late Joseph and Emily (Petershon) Raaf. He was a member of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War until his retirement and then went to work for the 3-M Corporation as a Technical Training Manager until his retirement in 1990. He had been a resident of Sebring since 1992 coming from St. Paul, MN. He attended the Church of Buttonwood Bay. He enjoyed his computer and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joseph is survived by his wife Donna L. Raaf of Sebring, FL, three sons, Joseph Raaf, James Raaf and John Raaf all of Minnesota, one brother, Richard J. Raaf of New York, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, three step-children, Vicki Reed, Rob DeLong and Debbie Newman, five step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014, 2:00pm, at the Church of Buttonwood Bay. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to: the Church of Buttonwood Bay, 10001 US Hwy. 27, South, Sebring, FL 33875. There will also be a memorial service in St. Paul, MN at a later date.
