Joseph Clarendon Barnwell

Joseph Clarendon Barnwell, age 89 passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Burlington, North Carolina to Robert William and Willard (Smith) Barnwell. He was an Insurance Underwriter, he was a member and Ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Avon Park, he graduated from Davidson College with a business degree and was a member of Beta Theta Pi at Davidson College, he enjoyed music, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters-Susan Hahn (Leo) of Greer, South Carolina, Sandy Paulk of Greer, South Carolina and Donna Barnwell Foster of Simpsonville, South Carolina; son-Keith Barnwell of San Antonio, Texas; sisters-Eleanor Kirkpatrick of Swepsonville, North Carolina and Betty Lynn Cooler (Harold) of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother-J. Forest Barnwell (Lana) of Raleigh, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by is wife of 57 years-Lurline Barnwell; 3 brothers-Robert W. Barnwell, Holt Barnwell and Richard Barnwell. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Avon Park with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating.
