Jose Felix Ortiz

Jose Felix Ortiz, age 73, passed away in Sebring, Florida on January 22, 2020. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 14, 1946 to Carmelo and Rosa Ortiz. Jose had been a resident of Sebring since 1989, coming from Elizabeth, New York. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church (Nuevo Pacto). Jose served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid musician and played piano and accordion, in  various churches, nursing homes and restaurants in Highlands County. He is survived by his loving and adoring wife, Miriam Ortiz; children, Joel (Ciarra) Ortiz of Miami, Florida, Sissi Ortiz of Miami, Florida, and Manci Hidalgo (Juan Jose) of Sebring, Florida; Brother, Hector Ortiz of Puerto Rico, and 10 grandchildren whom he loved dearly Mariah 20, Pedro 18, Alexander 16, Marelis 15, Marissa 14, Marey 12, Dylan 7, Mila 5, Noel 1 and Naz 4 months.  He was preceded in death by his Parents and his brother “Baby” Carmelo Ortiz. The funeral will take place on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida. The burial will be on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, in Avon Park, Florida.
