Johnnie W Jones

Johnnie Ruth Welch Jones, age 98, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025.

Born in 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee, Mrs. Jones was a 1945 graduate of East Nashville High School. She went on to build a long and dedicated career with Avco/Aerostructures Corporation, retiring after nearly 30 years of service in the accounting department.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, Robert Lee Jones. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Elizabeth Long of St. Simons Island, GA, and Blanche Doeringsfeld of Naples, FL, as well as her brother, Fred Welch of Nashville, TN.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Ruth Jones of San Diego, CA.

In her spare time, Mrs. Jones enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an enthusiastic fan of football, basketball, and baseball. She will be remembered for her sense of humor; I’m going to do my way about life and her devotion to God. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army in Johnnie’s name.
