John Joseph Tuthill, known more affectionately to us as "grandpa", went home to be with the Lord overnight on Sunday November 20th 2016, he was comfortable and at peace. He was a man who earned the right to be called a member of the Greatest Generation. He lived through the great depression, served in US Army in Korea, spent his life as a police officer in New Jersey and later in Florida. He was a helluva husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He brought laughter and excitement with everything he did. He was stubborn in the best and funniest of ways...heck, sometimes you didn't know if you should laugh or be offended at times with him. At the end of the day, he was a great man and loved by all who knew him. He loved his family deeply. He was a great American and loved his country. He loved God. That fact has brought us some peace and comfort. Our worldly selves are mourning and grieve our loss. But we are rejoiced in knowing that "grandpa" is celebrating in heaven and united with those who passed before him. Thank you for continued prayers for the rest of our family. God Bless!
And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
