John F. Springer

Rev. John F. Springer, age 88, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born on May 3, 1929 to the late Lawrence Oliver and Minnie (Postewaite) Springer.  John had been a resident since 1993 coming from Tampa, Florida.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Florida Conference.  John pastored for 50 plus years with United Methodist Churches in multiple states and conferences. He enjoyed golfing, was a family man and served as minister of evangelism at First United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joann Lee Springer; children-Steven Springer (Norma) of Vero Beach, FL; Joyce Springer Hands (Russell) of Groveland, FL; Rev. David Springer of Sebring, FL; sister-Joan Lewis of North Port, FL; Grandchildren-Christopher, Adam,  and Monica Hands and Stephanie and Stacie Springer; Great-Grandchildren-Lily and Emily.  He was preceded in death by his sisters-Freda Bunner; Virginia Chrislip; Wilda Monroe; Delma Taylor; brothers-Oudgar Springer; Willard Springer; Claude Springer.  There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church with Pastor David Juliano officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J.
