John Lynn Scott, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 12, 1921 in Sweetwater, Tennessee to the late Ralph Waldo and Jerrine (Marsh) Scott. He moved to Middletown, Ohio at the age of 8 where he had fond memories of growing up on the family farm and worked very hard. He proudly served our country with the U.S. Navy during World War II and spent his career with Armco Steel Corp. in Middletown, Ohio. After the death of his wife, Edithe, John moved to Sebring where he met and married Esther Mulder. John was a member of Heartland Christian Church which he loved. Spending time in his garden and bowling (where he won many trophies and medals) were just a few of his favorite past-times. Survivors include his two daughters: Cynthia Ann Silberman of Granger, IN, Lynne Marie Kelley of Palm Coast, FL; one sister: Dorothy Pierce (George) of Metairie, LA; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years: Edithe Marie (Bryant) Scott and wife of 11 years: Esther Mulder Scott and four sisters.
