John Rudolph Moore

John Rudolph Moore age 93 passed away on March 23, 2017 at his home in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Nashville, Indiana on June 2, 1923 to his parents, Watson Thurl Moore and Ruth Elenore Bowden Moore. John had been a resident of Avon Park since 2000 coming from Sugarloaf Key, Florida. He proudly served his country as a Commander in the United States Navy serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. During his time in the Military he was stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Rio De Janeiro as the liaison officer to the Brazilian Navy and later was stationed at Fort Allen in Puerto Rico. John was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Key West, Florida and the Disabled American Veterans in Sebring, Florida. He attended Union Congregational Church in Avon Park, Florida. John is survived by his daughter Debra Lynn Vega-Burns and her husband David, his sister-in-law Nancy Weber and his grandson, Thomas. He was preceded by his loving wife Marian and his son Gary Alan Moore. The family visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Stephenson Nelson Funeral home in Avon Park, Florida.
