John Elton Macneil

John Elton MacNeil, age 93, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on November 14, 1923 in Beverly, Massachusetts to the late Elton M. and Dorothy (Cressey) MacNeil. John was a Roman Catholic by faith and a veteran proudly serving our country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He spent his career as a captain for Pan Am Airways and flying was his passion. He moved to Avon Park in the late 1980's where he had numerous friends who loved him dearly and he enjoyed golfing as a past-time. Survivors include his three daughters: Mary Ann Coey, Nancy Nault and Joan Smith; brother: Raymond MacNeil; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Jean (Barry) MacNeil who passed away in 1986 and one sister Elizabeth Cassidy.
