John William Leatherman

John William Leatherman, age 101, passed away on January 8, 2020. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 31, 1918 to Irvin and Sophia Leatherman. John had been a Highlands County resident for 36 years coming from Huntington, Indiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, and was a member of the Elks, the VFW and a life member of the Masonic Lodge.  He was the Vice President of a book bindery. John is survived by his Children, Joan Patterson of Rogers, Kentucky, and Elizabeth Ehinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his son, John Leatherman and his sister, Eleanor Streckert.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date in Indiana so all of his family can attend.
