John Kilby

JOHN KILBY John Kilby, age 77, of Sebring, Florida, passed away March 4, 2010 in Sebring. He was born in Jackson County, North Carolina on July 16, 1932 and had been a resident of Sebring since 1976, moving from Waynesville, N.C. He retired from Wal-Mart in 1998. He was a Baptist and attended Whispering Pines Baptist Church when he was able. He was the son of the late Lura and Lawrence Kilby of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Kilby; one daughter, Darlene (Mark) Stoelton; one grandson, Wayne (Miranda) Suttles, all of Sebring, FL; sisters, Helen Green and Elizabeth Balding, both of Candler, NC; Hazel Lanning; Linda Clarke; Marie Sharp; Nora Mashburn and Cora Browning, all of Waynesville, NC. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Whispering Pines Baptist Church, Sebring, Rev. Steve Trinkle officiating. The family will receive friends the hour preceding the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Bougainvillea Cemetery, Avon Park, FL, will be immediately following the service.
