John G. "Jack" Lype

John G. “Jack” Lype, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Lake Placid, Florida. He was born on November 13, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Jack was a proud veteran serving our country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He spent his career in the Electrical Manufacturing industry and was founding president of Gemco Sales.  He had a love for antique cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of Highlands Lakes Region in Sebring as well as the Elks Lodge, American Legion and V.F.W. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports enthusiast especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Jack had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make you laugh and smile.  Jack was generous and kind. He loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed.  He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Margaret Sue (Enkoff) Lype; loving devoted father of: Luanne Lype-Avon Park, FL, John (Sally) Lype -Canonsburg, PA, Grandfather (POP POP) to Alexander (Alexandra) Lype, Emily Jeanne Lype. Other survivors include his sisters-in-law: Sally Boyer, Margie Lype, Karen Lype; brother-in-law: John (Babbs) Enkoff;one brother, Robert J. (Norma) Lype and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Jack was preceded in death by his daughter: Linda Sue Lype and his parents: Alfred A. and Agnes M. (Lenk) Lype and siblings: Charles W. Lype, Alfred A. Lype, Jr., Jeanne E. Lype (James) Munn and Renee F. Lype Adams. There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 27, 2017, 2:00 pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Inurnment will take place immediately following service with military honors at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park, FL.
