JOHN SAMUEL HERR John Samuel Herr, age 91, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 18, 2013 in Sebring, FL. He was born in Denair, CA to Walter and Gertrude Herr. He joined Sudan Interior Mission in 1949 and faithfully served the Lord for 39 years in Africa and in the U.S. as an administrator, teacher and evangelist. Psalm 1 was his theme and guiding light, and his prayer was always that he would be that "blessed man" who did not walk with the wicked but who delighted in the law of the Lord. He is survived by a brother, Walter Herr; two daughters, Kathy Gage and Dorothy Morse and a son, Bill Herr, along with 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah in 1960 and his second wife, Pauline in 2011. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the SIM Retirement Village Chapel in Sebring, FL. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to SIM USA, 4114 Nigeria Street, Sebring, FL 33875, designated for use at the SIM Retirement Village.
