John Brewer Coarsey, Jr. born July 31, 1928, joined the arms of Jesus peacefully on September 30, 2022. He was born in Miami, but grew up in Jacksonville, FL. Parents John Coarsey, Sr. and Marguerite (Bridges). He has one sister still living Madge Coarsey Lonsdale. He graduated from High School in 1945 at the age of 16 from Robert E Lee High School. He was a resident of Sunny Hill ALF in Sebring, FL since Hurricane Irma as they offered him a resident room to be near his wife after his home suffered water damage from the storm. He has been widowed from his wife Carolyn since 2019.
When he was 14 years old, he went to work at Kingan and Company Meat Packers and worked during the summer and holidays in sales. He was always the top salesman as he knew customer service was the key to success.
When he was a senior in High School, he played short stop on Lee’s Baseball Team, and they won the State Championship in 1945. They were undefeated and he was recognized as AllState Short Stop. After High School he went to University of Florida joined KAPPA ALPA Fraternity, BETA ZETA Chapter. He also went to Florida State in 1948-1949 where he played baseball.
Later in 1949 he left college and married June Oester Reicher, and they were married for 10 years. They had three children, Johnny, Stephanie, and Kimberly.
After his divorce he met Mary Daly Maisano and they had two children, Bonnie and Joe. Mary had two daughter’s Tina and Mary Alice from former marriage.
In 1952 he left Kingans Meatpacking and worked in Sales with Turner and Lee in Orlando, FL.
Mary and John divorced in 1973 and he met Carolyn Jones Buffington at the Lake Wales Bok Tower, and they were married on April 1 st , 1974. Carolyn had two children. Andy and Diana and they lived in Orlando, FL.
John was always recognized as the top salesman and until his last day he always had a set of pens in his front left pocket ready to write an order. He retired in 1999.
John and Carolyn moved to Sebring in 2005 to be closer to their daughter Diana who would be the caregiver as the aged and needed assistance.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sebring. He and his wife, Carolyn started a Church and Worship Music Program at the Sunny Hills ALF with the help of local Churches. They were also very active in the Residents Council at the facility.
He loved watching Gator Football and golf. He was a prayer warrior and loved Jesus. He was a provider for his family and wanted them to know he loved them and said I truly mean it forever.
The family ask in lieu of flowers donation to be made to Sunny Hills Assisted Living Facility, 3600 Commerce Center Drive, Sebring, FL 33870 for the Sunny Hills Resident Council Activities in honor of John B Coarsey, Jr.

The family will have a graveside service in Lake Wales, FL in memory of John and Carolyn Coarsey, Jr. at a later time.
