John David Capps

John David Capps, age 70, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Lakeland, FL. He was born on August 17, 1946 in North Carolina to the late Everett and Lessie Vida (Johnson) Capps. John had been a resident of Mulberry since 1971 having come from Avon Park, FL. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam and later worked as an electrician. John was a member of the Vineyard Church of God and the VFW. He loved working in the yard, woodworking, and his family. John is survived by his wife: Barbara J. Capps, of Mulberry, FL; children: Michele Fitzgerald (Eddie) of Mulberry, FL; David Allen Capps (Melissa) of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren: Amber, Megan, Brelyn, Brynley; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Carter, Terry; siblings: Clifton Capps of NC; Kenneth Capps of NC; Butch Capps of NC; and Carolyn Ryals of NC. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, FL.
