John "Jack" Burroughs

JOHN "JACK" BURROUGHS John "Jack" Burroughs, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Avon Park, FL. He was born in Syracuse, New York on September 13, 1919 to Frederick C. and Caroline (Besig) Burroughs. He was an Industrial Engineer employed at OSHA; member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church; served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved his church and church family, he served his church as a Deacon. He was honest, dependable and respected by others. He loved his family, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His legacy will always be known as "Keep the Faith". He was a resident of Avon Park since 1983 coming from Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sara Burroughs, Avon Park; Daughter, Sandra L. Burroughs, New York; Step-Daughter, Stacy John, Sebring, FL; Step-Sons, Scott (Laura) Jones, Georgia and Shelby Jones, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall officiating.
